BBC documentary on Body Dysmorphic Disorder The whole documentary can be purchased for free, please visit www.thebddfoundation.org People with Body Dysmorphic Disorder (BDD) often hide or are in denial about the true nature of their condition. They may desperately seek relief from cosmetic surgeons or dermatologists long before consulting with mental health professionals. They may be embarrassed to tell others about what they are experiencing for fear of being thought vain or “crazy”. BDD can be extremely serious with an elevated risk of self-destructive thoughts or behaviors. This condition is also associated with a variety of problems in social and emotional adaptation that compound the problem. Technically, BDD is a Somatoform Disorder as per the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, 4th Edition, Text Revision (DSM IV-TR). It specifically involves an excessive preoccupation with one or more physical characteristics. Although this condition is classified as a Somatoform Disorder, it shares many similarities with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder in that individuals with both conditions experience obsessions and compulsions relating to their appearance. For example, someone with BDD may have a compulsion to repeatedly check the way his or her nose looks in a mirror. Individuals with BDD have obsessions about either an imaginary defect in their appearance or an exaggeration of a defect that to others seems inconsequential. Unique to BDD, the obsession or

Are women who undergo cosmetic surgery like breast implants more likely to be Republican or a Democrat?

May 19th, 2012 | Cosmetic | 7 Comments

Question by : Are women who undergo cosmetic surgery like breast implants more likely to be Republican or a Democrat?

I don’t care about politics but do care about this and want to stay away from the wrong political rallies.

Those plastic “war heads” which won’t jiggle I find boring.

To avoid those, do I need to avoid Democratic or Republican women?

The problem is that you can’t just walk up to one of them and ask, so you might be wasting your time.

How To Draw Shadow The Hedgehog

May 18th, 2012 | Make Up Art | 25 Comments

How To Draw Shadow The Hedgehog by Evan Burse. Today, I’m gonna show you how to draw SHADOW The Hedgehog! Shadow is the Anti-hero from the famous Sonic video games & animated series. I’m going to show you step-by-step on how to draw Shadow. Let’s get started! Beginning with his head, which is a simple sphere. Next we are going to draw the body. It’s smaller like a bean or jellybean shape just below the head at an angle. His legs, we’re going to draw in sticks for his legs; they’re just diagonal. Don’t have them just straight up and down. That’s a boring pose. So now you’re going to put his feet as triangles and pyramids. Now you’re going to draw the center line going down on the head. This line goes right between the eyes down to the bottom of his face. And you’re going to go ahead and draw his eyes diagonal. The upper eyelid looks kind of like Spiderman’s mask to try and give him that mean expression with his eyes. Start drawing in his muzzle here, his mouth area where his nose and mouth will go. When you curve his eyebrow area that gives him a mean expression. One detail you want to keep in mind when drawing Shadow is in the corner of his eyelid, there is a red accent. I guess you can say that it’s the under part of his eyelid. His nose is like a pickle shape. There is nothing difficult about it. Now add guidelines for his eye balls. Keep them on the same level so one eyeball isn’t higher or more crooked than the other. We are going to modify his expression. He looks

Jan Švankmajer (born 4 September 1934 in Prague) is a Czech surrealist artist. His work spans several media. He is known for his surreal animations and features, which have greatly influenced other artists such as Tim Burton, Terry Gilliam, The Brothers Quay and many others. Švankmajer has gained a reputation over several decades for his distinctive use of stop-motion technique, and his ability to make surreal, nightmarish and yet somehow funny pictures. He is still making films in Prague at the time of writing. Švankmajer’s trademarks include very exaggerated sounds, often creating a very strange effect in all eating scenes. He often uses very sped-up sequences when people walk and interact. His movies often involve inanimate objects coming alive and being brought to life through stop-motion. Food is a favourite subject and medium. Stop-motion features in most of his work, though his feature films also include live action to varying degrees. A lot of his movies, like the short film Down to the Cellar, are made from a child’s perspective, while at the same time often having a truly disturbing and even aggressive nature. In 1972 the communist authorities banned him from making films, and many of his later films were banned. He was almost unknown in the West until the early 1980s. Today he is one of the most celebrated animators in the world. His best known works are probably the feature films Alice (1988), Faust (1994), Conspirators of Pleasure (1996), Little Otik (2000

How to tell your Gf that she is wearing too much make up?

May 11th, 2012 | How To Make Up | 1 Comment

Question by : How to tell your Gf that she is wearing too much make up?

I know it’s a sensitive subject to girls. In every day life like college or at my place she looks great you know. She just wears enough make up to make her already beautiful features pop. But when we go out to a club or a bar she wears A LOT. Especially the lip stick. The red lip stick makes it just too much. I don’t want to hurt her feelings but I personally don’t think she should wear anymore make up then she does in normal life. Or do I just keep my mouth shut?

Best answer:

Answer by Bluto Blutarsky83
like this-

go “whoa”

“holy shit _____________ don’t scare me like that i thought you were a freakin racoon!”

“take off some of that make up or i might shoot you next time by accident”
